Why so many people have pets?
If you have a pet, you can most probably think of hundreds of good reasons right off the top of your head like Peshi-pets to keep a pet. If you have a dog then you would know that special feeling you get when you arrive home after a long day of work to be greeted with a wagging tail and a few excited licks to the face. There is no doubt that the dog is the man’s best friend. Their unconditional love makes you love them even more. And if you have a cat at home instead. Then you would know how they loves to snuggle up beside you whenever you are low to let you know everything is going to be just fine. Cats also gives the best cuddles. Maybe you have some other type of pet. Whether it’s a fish, a turtle, a bird, a rabbit, a horse, a sheep, or a chicken, a pet simply makes you feel good and your life better. But have you ever stopped to wonder why we people keep pets in the first place? And how this whole keeping pet thing started?
Well, no one really knows the first time an animal was domesticated. Which means taming an animal to live alongside a human being as a pet. Humans have always developed close association with animals, so the first pets were probably domesticated thousands of years ago. We don’t think of pets as tools but early humans certainly did for providing a source of food, animals could provide many other things, including labor, milk, and clothing.
We live in a pet-loving culture. Many people have pets to substitute getting in a relationship with a partner, children or family members. Many people like having a dog instead of being all alone at home and get bored all the time. This is usually a lap dog, very affectionate and strokable. The pet serves people’s need to cherish, love and fight boredom. But this is really a distressing reason for keeping a pet. The animal is a simple replacement for normal human contact, something that apparently is too much to summon in our individualistic society. Their pet keeps them from pining. But of course, it has to be a type of cat or dog that suits them and that has been bred especially for their needs. You can basically prevent boredom by keeping pets. Your pet needs attention. And by just looking at them, animal-watching is a nice therapy to give peace to your mind. Pets also makes the statement for their owners. When an animal looks dangerous, for instance, this reflects on its owner that the man is known for his authority, anger he means business. Many people (sub) consciously pick animals that best suit them and most reflect their status. If a guy picks a turtle as his pet than this tells that he has a calm nature and an easy going man. Or if someone picks a horse as his pet than this shows that the person loves nature.
